On September 17th, 2013, Dr. James Lee and Mayor Candidate Mr. Baraka for Newark met during a fundraiser in downtown Newark, New Jersey. 

Dr. James Lee supports Mr. Baraka as the most qualified Mayor. It is reported that Baraka is currently leading of the competition. He already controls three of the five districts, and will be elected as the next mayor. He has more than 10 years of government experience and is well known in the community for his hard work and passion for the city. Baraka stated that once elected, he will focus on building strong business relationship with China, which will help Chinese community and Newark.
